Qatar Airways Privilege Club - F -> Y Connection in Doha

I'm flying to Abu Dahbi through Doha. The long LHR-DOH sector is in F, but the short sector is in Y. Same on the return flights. My questions are:

- Will I get access to the premium terminal (incl. F lounge) on both outbound and inbound?
- Will I get the limo transfer services both ways (as in to and from the plane)?
- Can I use F check-in on the return?
- Generally is it even worth upgrading to F for the token sector DOH-AUH?
- Is it worth flying F or should I just go J? I hear mixed reviews but am intrigued by the so-called 5* airline's F product. Outbound night flight, return is day flight. Anything decent in the lounge in LHR?

F class is worth it ex-LHR. You get the Virgin Clubhouse lounge access.

For the Y flight, it would really depend on your ticket, and up to QR in LHR whether they would allow you to use the premium terminal. Generally you only get access if you hold a J or F boarding pass.

I don't know about the limo transfer. You might want to contact QR in LHR about that. But on the return you might be able to use the F check in as you do have a F ticket , I presume?

As I recall, access to the Premium Terminal is based on your outbound flight. So conecting to AUH in Y will NOT get you access. On the return, you need to make sure you point out when you chech in that you're onward flight is in F and they should give you a pass. You will show this to the buss driver so they know to take you on to the Premium Terminal.

If your connection time is not too long, I would not worry about the upgrade. You will get to the regular terminal long before the Y pax and should have a straight shot through security.

A couple of other points:

There is no J intra-gulf. All flights ex-DOH to mid-east desitations are in F service. (Thus the significane of the new ability to upgrade a ticket from Y to F using Qmiles. In the past there was no possible upgrade.)

I don't know that they actually run the limo at DOH anymore and I'm pretty sure they never ran it for inra-gulf flights.

The Lounge options (Virgin) makes F a no-brainer if you can afford it. I supose you could try F out and J back if you really wanted to compare.

My connection is a couple of hours so I want to make sure I have access to the premium terminal, especially after the overnight flight. I suppose I have to foot the bill for the F hopper, but I'll check with LHR. Return shouldn't be an issue as I will have F boarding pass for the onward flight. Also, to be honest, I'd rather just avoid any hassle as that just ruins an F flight.

I thought one of the things is Limo service from plane to premium terminal - have they stopped that?
