hi, we are flying from stuttgart via istanbul to tashkent in two weeks with turkish airlines. I booked the flights using opodo.de and am *G. any chance to reserve a seat (even better emergency row) beforehand?

You can do seat selection on European routes starting one week prior to your flight. Talk with TK call center to book emergency seat.

Just wondering about a IST-Asia (SIN) flight? I called up their NY office and was told to phone back 1-2 months later.
My flight is in May 2010 (;)) but I was able to book the tix and was surprised I couldn't also get a seat selection. :confused:

I encountered this as well in late Jan/early Feb when I booked a BKK-IST-TLV return flight. I was able to select my seat on the outgoing trip which was in end-Feb, but not the return leg at the end of July. Apparently the system only allows seat selection within a maximum of 90(?) days before the flight. If I'm not wrong, this happens in both online and offline bookings. Anyway I had no probs getting my seat choice (in J) on the return leg. In fact, I was able to change the departure date (over the phone) to a couple of days earlier which theoretically should be on the 777 (and seems that way according to the seat selection).

Sorry just to clarify, I managed to get my seat selection on the return flight closer to the date of the return flight, say about 2 months before the flight.

The only way I have reserved seats online on Turkish Airlines is when I have bought the tickets directly on their web site www.thy.com and then you can reserve your seats. Otherwise I usually phone the call center if the tickets are bought through other channels

In my case, since the return leg of my BKK-IST-TLV ticket was more than 90 days in advance when I bought the ticket online, I had to call the TK office in TLV directly for the seat selection once less than 90 days. I don't think there's an online option at thy.com to select seats later once the period before the trip is less than 90 days. But I'll be glad if someone could also confirm if there's such an option or not.
