OK...so I scoured all the forums to try to think of the best forum to post this in and since this is regarding online travel booking and could really fit into about three different forums on here, I'm going to give this a whirl.
I'm trying to go to Australia for a mini-trip in early August. Right now, I'm looking at booking my Qantas flight on my AAdvantage MasterCard and I want to book my Hilton Hotel on my HHonors Visa. Right now, the total for both comes out to around $1,170.
Now, I was checking currency exchange rates on another site and then clicked a link from that site to a travel company. It is offering me a combined rate with the same flights and same hotel (except no breakfast but that's not a biggie as I'm only staying three days) for just over $200 less than booking the flight and hotel separate.
So I was wondering. Is it best to spend more to book separate to maximize points and will the additional points I get for booking separate be worth it?
Or, should I go ahead and just take the cheaper deal.
Any help would be great.
Thanks.
