Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - 1st Time Lounger

Hey everyone,
I am thinking of flying Business from (SIN) to Incheon International Airport (ICN) in Seoul, South Korea for an exchange.
However, the leg from SIN to ICN transits at HKG for around 4 hours (some legs have transits up to 10 hours), I tried to look up on the internet if there was any limit to the duration you can be in the lounge if on business ticket and there wasn't much info...only info on websites in which you purchase lounge access separately and on those websites, their duration is only 3 hours maximum. Does the 3 hours apply for business class comp lounge access too?
The question above is for 'before your flight'.
What about 'after your flight' at ICN? As I would be waiting for my friend who will be arriving 2-3 hours later than me on another flight. Would I still be allowed access into the lounge to wait? Do I check out of the airport first then enter the lounge? Or is there a lounge inside the insides of the terminal before you check out?
I am unsure if the lounges are available only after you check into the insides of the terminal (what's the exact term? lol) or available outside the insides of the terminal LOL this is so confusing.
I'm just so confused and I hate looking frazzled and dishevelled after the 12 hours flight including transit.
Could someone help me with this? Thanks so much all!
:)

Hi samkhk and a very warm welcome to FT.
Provided you are in transit then there is no limit to lounge access time with a busniess class ticket.
If you were checking-in in Hong Kong however then depending on the airline, the check-in desk may not open until three hours before the flight.
Lounges are generally departures lounges, to be used while waiting for a flight.
On arrival at Seoul you will need to collect your luggage and clear customs and immigration. Once you have done that you cannot re-enter the airport to use the lounge.
With regards

Hi lme ff! Thanks for the welcome as well as the reply - definitely solved most of my queries.
But regarding the last bit...could I collect my luggage and go to the lounge for about 2 hours then proceed to clear customs and immigration?
Thanks~~!

No, because baggage reclaim is after immigration but before customs.

If it helps there are lounges you can pay for at HKG which are actually OK, I have in the past used them and they are pretty good, a search of Hong Kong airports website will help you as right now I cant remeber the name of them

True, but a transit from SIN-HKG-ICN sure sounds like CX, whose J lounges are well above any of the pay-in lounges.
(In HKG, the pay-in lounge is called the Plaza Premium Lounge: http://www.hongkongairport.com/eng/passenger/transfer-transit/all/shower-pay-in-lounge/pay-in-lounge.html ) But, with a J class ticket, it should be irrelevant to you.

Regarding ICN: Some airlines have "arrival lounges" at some airports. These are generally available to passengers arriving in business (such as you) or first class. You'll have to check with your airline, which you didn't specify, to find out if it has one or has arrangements to use someone else's. (The information may be on its Web site.) Arrival lounges are past immigration and customs: you enter the country, collect your bags, clear customs, and go to the lounge.
They don't impose time limits on how long you can stay, but they often have limited operating hours based on when most of that airline's flights arrive.

Yes, I am flying CX.
However, their website does not seem to state such an option of arrival lounges...hmmm
Would anyone be familiar with the available arrival lounges for CX?
Thanks! I'm thoroughly grateful for the helpful community here at FT~~

There's no CX arrival lounge at ICN. And actually there is no arrival lounge in HKG if you are flying J class without oneworld status.
However, during your stopver in HKG, you can enter the CX lounges, and shower and rest there. You will have plenty of time to do that. The flight to ICN from HKG is just over 3 hours, so you won't be looking dishevelled then.
