"We need to look at whether or not it is important for us to be involved with (Metro light rail) since we don't have any track, we don't have any vote and we're to discuss things that don't impact us at all," Lane said.

The link above seems to direct to search results, Here (http://www.azcentral.com/community/scottsdale/articles/2009/06/13/20090613nesrtransit0613.html) is a link to the actual story.
I agree with some others, $50k seems a small price to pay, to keep their voices heard. It would certainly make sense to have rail somewhere in Scottsdale. On one of the expansion maps, I saw a line going along the AZ-51 freeway to PV Mall, which could connect to Scottsdale. Otherwise, a line down Scottsdale or Hayden Rd would work well.

Why would we want to transfer the tax dollars of citizens to the construction companies in order to bugger up Hayden or Scottsdale roads?
The way they have torn down all the nice palm trees in the median of Central Ave and messed up the traffic patterns on it should be a warning to everyone else in the valley to run, not walk, away from this little gem.

Hi All,
I heard some of the bad news from Metro light rail has been delays until 2014 opening for 19th Ave expansion. So here the news article published came in today.

Perhaps hope you can read it whole newspaper from AZ Central. So they are waiting for hiring more constructions worker. It will begin constructions on 19th Ave sometime in year of 2010 or 2011. It will have 3 new stations is Glendale Ave, Northern Ave and Dunlap Ave will be completion done in year of 2014 timeline.

The old median was the infamous "pink rock".
I drive down Central almost every day and don't have a problem with it.
