Other Car Rental Programs/Partners (ie. Alamo, Enterprise, Sixt) - Alamo in Detroit. What to expect?

Hi,

I have booked a standard SUV from alamo, picking it up at DTW and dropping it off 3 weeks later in O'hare.

Is there a choiceline at DTW, so I can pick my own car or will it be assigned at the counter?

If it is assigned at the counter, will I be able to request another car, if I am not satisfied and there are other cars available?

My rental is booked and prepaid through a travel agent. If I would be interested in upgrading to a full size SUV at the counter, how much should I expect to pay?

Any answers will be apreciated.

There is a choice line. Whatever size you reserve they tell you the location at the counter (ie: aisle b) and you choose which ever car you want from that aisle. I'm renting from them next week but actually using national emerald club & they have a big carport in the front when you come in. The shuttle bus will drop you off there. They have several cars to choose from. It's always best because you don't have to go inside & wait in a line. Just pick & go.
