Qatar Airways Privilege Club - Does QR Release Reward Reward Inventory Close to Flight Date?

I've been trying to upgrade some tickets between DOH and KUL and DOH and CAI and been told there is no inventory in the correct bucket. Is it worth resubmitting the request? If they release more inventory closer to the flight date it might go through.

Just curious if anyone has experience with this.

In my experience, no.

Cos once the award seats are gone, QR will concentrate on selling the seats as revenue.

You may of course just keep trying and see if anyone cancels..

Something happened because I was able to upgrade the ticket today. The only difference I notice was "D" inventory went from 0 to 9 viewing through KVS.

So I've cleared an upgrade all the way from IAH to KUL. A much better way to spend 23 hours in the air. The only bummer is a short 55 minute layover in the PT. I guess I'll be better off if I miss the connection though...

I was able to upgrade DOH-CAI (Y to F) today. That had been rejected a couple of times over the last few weeks. Again, the difference in KVS is "P" now shows as 9.
