I booked and ticketed an I class round-trip JFK-HKG-MNL-HKG-JFK through my travel agent.
I called Asia Miles to upgrade the ticket for 105,000 miles.
In addition to my original travel agent CX locator, I was also given a second one by the Asia Miles agent.
The original agency locator has all 4 flights in I class with a seat assignment only on HKG-MNL which is the only sector where an upgrade is not possible due to 2 class equipment.
The new CX locator provided by the Asia Miles agent has the 3 upgraded segments (Z class) with seat assignments.
The miles have not been deducted.
I called Asia Miles and was told that the re-ticketing departing would link or combine (I forget what words she used) when they processed the ticket in 4-5 days.
Does this sound okay?
