I know nothing about the dining in Lexington Kentucky.
Perhaps some FT’ers could help me out with any feedback or feel free to post a suggestion.

Perhaps some FT’ers could help me out with the following if you have any feedback or feel free to post a suggestion.
Ramsey’s Diner – southern comfort food
Billy’s Hickory Pit BBQ
Bangkok House
Oasis Deli & Bakery
Dudley’s Restaurant
Istanbul Palace

I like Ramsey"s. It is VERY local. Nothing special in the ambiance, but the Hot Brown is to die for. Lexington has a lot of good choices.

I've never tried Oasis or Dudley's (though I've heard VERY good things about Dudley's for those who've been.)
Bangkok House is probably my favorite Thai place in town, and there's great little coffee shop upstairs that you can visit afterwords.
Ramsey's is a local hotspot with several locations around town. If you like southern food, you won't be at all disappointed.
Istanbul Palace is a great hole-in-the-wall place and the food is very good.
Billy's is good, but nothing special, especially for the price.
If you like Indian food, there's a great place called Masala that never disappoints.

I lived in LEX from 1964-1992 and my parents are still there.
Is Columbia's Steak House still going strong? That might have good ambience.
Or a place for a Hot Brown or burgoo or country ham or real KY cuisine.

Called my dad for more suggestions for dinner in LEX. He thought of:
a la lucie
Merrick Inn
Marikka's Bier Stube (they have several hundred different brews)
Two other possibilities some distance away:
Shakertown (http://www.shakervillageky.org/)
Boone Tavern (http://www.boonetavernhotel.com/)

Ah, I miss Lexington!!
Ramsey's - If you're going to go, go to the original on High Street.
Merrick Inn - Sit outside if the weather is nice
Dudley's is nice, good service, good ambiance.
Billy's BBQ - Pitchers of Natural Light - Need I say more? :) And I mean that as a compliment!!
There used to be a place out on Tates Creek Rd., called Emmitts. Not sure if it is still there (haven't lived in LEX since 2002) but it was a nice place in an old house.

Yep, Columbia's is still hopping. I've never been there though, so I can't really comment on it.

burgoo is not very attractive food name but I love it. Hot brown is a good meal.
Seems Ramsey's is getting some good support on this thread.

Ramsey's Diner is not a diner in the Jersey sense of the word. This place is more like a friendly neighborhood joint. Nice people, easy prices, TVs at the bar. I don't know that I would go out of my way, but I guess I'm glad I went there once.
