Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - BA Miles booked CX Flight 355 days out..

just did this on an awards ticket in J....did not know that CX loaded flights into BA's system so far out? has it always been this way?

seems the best way the closer you get the more impossible it becomes to get a BA flight with CX miles, I was looking to buy my dad a F or C ticket on BA from UK to Asia and checked daily for 4 weeks in May for flight in October and its just not comin up, finally gave up and bought him a ticket instead as I know he will prefer BA biz to CX

they do load some early on......but when it get's closer to the dates, around a month before, CX usually releases some J and F award tickets. I didn't know that either as i was looking for a flight to HK from canada in J and wasn't able to find any so i was forced to book a JAL connection flight. But just about two weeks ago, i saw some CX J class open up so i quickly cancelled my JAL and rebooked on CX :p

i BOOKED 3 tix in J from NA to NRT via HKG on CX booked 355 days out using BA points...always thought it was only 11 months out for CX...
