Tried a search but came up empty handed. Any info on this property? Just a weekend break but would like to know more.

Go to the Sheraton site and search on Fort Walton Beach. The property is a Four Points and is directly on the beach.

Hey worldbanker, good to hear from you again. Hope all is well.
Sorry, no personal experiences at the Fort Walton Beach Four Points. They do have a personal website though at
http://sailfish.neworleans.gulf.net/sheraton4pts/index.html
that describes their new tower. I assume that you would want to make sure that your room is in this section rather than the older one.
Fill us in with a property experience when you get back http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Hey Stephen, always good to see a familiar face on the thread.
Yes, I tried the Sheraton search but the property looked run down. The second site is fantastic. Really looking forward to staying this weekend, considering Spring Break and all.
I think it will be nice as my previous Four Points stay was an ultimate disaster. But if you are right on the water, you can't wrong right?

Has anyone stayed here recently? Need a quick beach weekend and was going to use points here. Did a search and didn't see anything.
Any comments/suggestions?

Also - let me know if SPG plats get upgraded to ocean view rooms here.
thanks!

I think it's one of of the better 4-Pts around (but I'm partial b/c I live here). It's directly on the beach and walking distance from some dining.
I'm not sure if they will upgrade Plat's all the time, but they did for a buddy of mine that came down recently.

Thanks Gator
since you live there - would love some tips on stuff to do or see when we aren't soaking up the sun.

I stayed here in March. As a Platinum I did get upgraded to a suite at the end of the hotel. Had a nice balcony. It's a decent Four Points, right in the heart of everything to do. It's nice to have beach access.
I am planning a stay here this weekend. Any chance a gold might get upgraded?

At the risk of hijacking your thread, what other starwood properties are alternatives in the Florida panhandle?

Sorry, can't help you with upgrade info.
But, there are no other Starwood properties from New Orleans to Tampa on the Gulf Coast. They even just lost the Sheraton in Gainesville.

Ahhh....the Redneck Riviera. But seriously, this my favorite hotel in this area, and the reason I am here really. I end up down there 4 times a year. Good golf with greens that are always in season, nice beach, plenty of good food, and places for a cold one. If you're from the Mid-South, Destin still remains the long weekend getaway of choice. And I hope they upgrade gold also; I will be there first weekend in October.
