My two boys and I are heading to PI in two weeks. We are staying at the Comfort Suites. Any advise of things to do (besides waterpark), hidden costs, things to stay away from (ripeoffs), etc. We are travelling on a budget so we would like to so as much as we can. Any suggestions on attractions, places to eat, etc. Also if someone stayed at the Comfort Suites what was your experience like. Any tips you could provide would be great. Take care:)

Well you've picked the most expensive place in Nassau to vacation. So the best advice I can give you is head over to the grocery to purchase alcohol, pop, snack foods, that kind of thing for your room.

You'll have to look around for some value restaurants. It's been a couple years since I stayed there, although I have stayed on Cable beach more recently and found some good spots to eat about half way between that and PI - we like local food though.

Having said that, you are getting good value by staying at the Comfort Inn, which - if nothing has changed - gets you access to Atlantis facilities. You will find the shops and restaruants fairly steep and commercial.

Take the ferry to Nassau to look around and shop. Or walk across the bridge and back into town. Also you can take the bus for a buck or two. Just ask around.

Enjoy!

Where is the grocery located in relation to the Comfort Suites?

Also, can we use US dollars in the Bahamas?

Thanks.

Going from memory here, and assuming things haven't changed, walk towards the bridge and there should be an older plaza on the left. The grocery is at the far left end.

A couple more affordable restaurants when we were there a few years ago too - one Italian wasn't too bad.

Liquor is in a newer plaza, either beside or behind the Comfort.

Both are a short walk, just ask around.

Probably more of both now though, as Atlantis property itself has expanded considerable in the last few years. The above ones are outstide the Atlantis property.

Yes U.S. dollars are accepted everyone, although you might get Bahamian currancy as change. Which you can use to settle your account or for tips if you don't want to keep some for a return trip.

Cheers,
