Air New Zealand Air Points - 777s / 747s get to BNE ... how?

I was just looking at the last week of October for flights between AKL and BNE, and see that on the return BNE-AKL sector the aircraft is 747 Sunday, 777 Mon, 767 Tue/Wed/Thu, 747 Fri, and 777 Sat. But I can't see any of those aircraft getting into BNE from AKL that week. So where do those aircraft last depart from for BNE?

AKL-BNE NZ135, and BNE-AKL NZ136. Looks fine to me on the timetable lookup.

OK, thanks Kiwi Flyer.
In hindsight, because I was actually searching NSN-BNE then only same day options were defaulting into the weekly timetable. The early-ish departure of NZ135 presumably drove it not showing up at all.
Of course if I use AKL-BNE direct all those 747 and 777 flights are right there as clear as day!

Do those aircraft come from somewhere else, or do NZ just run them on the AKL/BNE routes for the hell of it?

Overnight they travel from LAX to AKL, then they would sit on the ground for the rest of the day if there didn't do AKL-BNE-AKL. During the busy periods NZ136/135 can full a 744 with out a problem. I took NZ136 on Xmas day it was about 99% full.

Ah OK. I thought they might be a "through-flight" route (e.g. akin to MEL-AKL-LAX on QF).
So, does anyone have any experiences to share about travelling ~3 hours in Business Premier?

I pick these flights out (and the 777 to/from MEL) and try to fly them whenever I can. Other than EK F they are the best way to fly across the Tasman.
What do you want to know?

I did this route on a 744 a couple of years back ... spent the entire time eating and drinking.
Cabin crew commented on my watching of a movie on my notebook ... my screen is lot bigger than their one.
I used Air Dollars for the upgrade (else they would've expired) ... wouldn't have travelled in Business Premier (and paid the $$$) on such a short flight otherwise.

Yeah the cabin crew said you basically either have a very short nap and skip the service or be happy and eat and drink yourself silly over the Tasman. The food and wine service on NZ is excelent unless you get the breakfast flights where it is better not to eat the food:eek:

I probably flying Auckland/Brisbane on 135/136 3 times year. Good flights, usually 747s, but sometimes 777s. Personally I prefer the former. Short flights, but enjoy the food, wine and Air NZ service, usually Business Premier using airpoints to upgrade. Premium Economy on these flights is ok, except that you'd be better to bring a MacDonalds on board with you.
