American Express Membership Rewards - MQM on Delta reserve

Hi:

I've been researching the AMEX Delta Reserve card as a possible replacement for my AMEX Platinum Card. Do you earn MQM for every dollar you spend or only the 10K signing bonus and 15k for each $30,000? From what I read, it looks like you only earn skymiles for every dollar you spend.

I kinda doubt I'll spend over $30K next year given the economy. Does the Reserve Card have any other important benefits that the AMEX Platinum doesn't have? I do fly NWA/Delta about enough to earn Silver status, but that's it.

If you spend 30K, you'll get 30K in miles for the spend, plus another 15K in bonus miles (45K in total), and 15K in MQMs.

Delta Reserve gives you priority at upgrade time, and you get waivers for fees on your award mile ticketing. You also get Crown Room access and a free FC/coach companion cert at renewal.

Is this companion ticket deal only at renewal, or also at first sign-up? What are the fare codes you can use? If you can use A-class, it would pay for itself immediately for me.

I can't tell the answer to either of these things from the web site.

I asked this on another thread but got no answer. Will I still get the bonus 10K MQMs for signing up for the DL Reserve even though I've received at least that many bonus MILES (but no bonus MQMs) for other DL cards?
Do DL differentiate b/t miles and MQMs in terms of counting prior bonuses?

You probably didn't get an answer because its likely no one knows. From my interpretation of the rules, you should get the 10K becuase you have not recevied that particular bonus. But I don't make the rules. :)

Best to call Amex and ask.
