The 3 (myself/my wife/our 13 yr old daughter) of us will be staying at the Cairns Hilton at the beginning of July.
We have decided to visit the Great Barrier Reef, go on the Kurunda SkyTrain, and go to the Daintree River Cruise.
The first question is whether we should rent a car, and go to the 2 attractions (I understand the pier for the Great Barrier Reef tours is across the stree from the Hilton) by car, or be picked up for the 2 attractions.
If we go on tours for Kurunda and Daintree, could we be picked up and dropped off at the Hilton?
Which tour companies should we book with, for the 3 attractions? Should we book directly through a web site, or through a travel agent?
In terms of the Great Barrier Reef, I can not swim at all (any boats with glass bottoms?); my wife and my daughter will want to snorkel or even learn to scuba (they have never scuba dived). Taking into consideration we want good sightseeing (including for me through a glass bottom boat, if possible), good swimming, and good food/beverages - which is the best boat tour for the Great Barrier Reef?
