JetBlue TrueBlue - Would like to see the Cayman Islands added to B6 Caribbean repertoire!

What does the group think here? Since B6 is really rounding out the Caribbean, how about adding the Cayman Islands as another destination. What do you think are the chances of this becoming a reality?:D

Great destination (and not much n/s service from NYC) but I don't know if there are slot issues that would have to be negotiated or what other regulatory hurdles there would be.

I wonder if B6 would try to get its foot in the door in the Cayman's from Orlando? I think Cayman Airways used to serve Orlando but recently stopped. Once daily on an E190 would be a perfect fit. Long term, service to Boston, Fort Lauderdale, New York JFK, Tampa and Washington Dulles would be possible depending on what kind of traffic restrictions that the Caymans and the US have.

JFK to MCO to Cayman Islands would be a great route.

I disagree. If they are going to give it a go then the non-stop from NYC is their best chance of success. There is no reason to stop in MCO.

One reason would be if NYC-GCM didn't have the yields (either because of competition with Cayman Air or lack of P2P traffic) and they needed the additional traffic from MCO. However, I don't really know anything about the traffic on this route, so I can't say that they wouldn't. The MCO-GCM route would also open up connections from IAD/CLT/RDU/etc which would be beneficial so they wouldn't have to go out of their way, as well as other NE cities (ROC/SYR/BUF/etc) that could bypass JFK traffic and delays. Also, I guess the trip from LGB/SFO (via AUS) would be greatly reduced as opposed to having to go through JFK.

Also, I'm not sure what regulatory restrictions are in place for US-Grand Cayman air travel, but if they needed gov't approval, then MCO would probably be easier to get than JFK because it'd open up a brand new market rather then replicate an existing one.

I understand your reason for disagreement, but I don't think there is enough demand out of NYC. As dinosim stated, the other feeder cities into MCO could fill the gap.

No JFK is more of a hub in that sense. Now I see why n/s JFK to Cayman makes a better fit.

More cities feed JFK than MCO in the B6 route network. Not to mention that there a higher demand from the Northeast/NYC area to go to the Caymans than the is from Central Floritda

JFK to MCO to Cayman Islands would be a great route.

And FLL-GCM, too. This is more remarkable route for FLL-GCM will be enough more capacity growth in FLL focus cities. I'm sure this is best logical choice for FLL-GCM route and after both KX & NK has been discontinuation this route due to poor performance.
