I found a Samsung phone on a rental from the Alamo at BOS.

The phone is pin-locked so i can't call the owner, and the owner hasn't called back yet.

I'm very reserved about turning in the phone to the Alamo people, because they all look pretty shady, and looks like people that would sell the phone rather than give it back to the owner. I guess, i'll use that as a last resort at the end of my stay here at BOS.

On the off chance the phone belongs to a FTer, if you could tell me the phone's model and the retal car model, i'd be more than glad to mail it to you.

Any suggestions.

If the phone has a carrier brand (VZW, Sprint, etc) label on it, you could probably bring it to one of the carriers stores and they could determine the owner.

no brand label on the phone or the sim card

Would you trust airport lost and found? When I thought I lost my cell phone I called the shuttle company I used to get to the airport, the airport lost and found, and the airline lost and found.

Perhaps the person has followed a similar path so if Alamo is sketchy maybe you can trust it with another.

I have a slider phone and after that incident I did put a return address label where it is visible when opened just in case an honest person like you found my phone and wanted to do the right thing.

Did you look up the model of phone to determine which carriers carry it? If it has a SIM it is obviously one of the GSM carriers like ATT or T Mobile.

no brand label on the phone or the sim card

Give it directly to the Airport manager on duty when you return. He/she will know who had the car beofre you and can contact the renter.
