SAA was supposed to have started JNB-MUB service around this time. Expert Flyer still lists the flights, but all booking classes are listed as "closed." The always-superb SAA website includes the JNB-MUB flight on its schedule page, but the same web wite does not list Maun as one of the destinations to which you can buy a ticket.

Anyone know if this flight is on, off, or somewhere overhead, circling and waiting for a decision?

............. The always-superb SAA website ......................

I 'm afraid that gave it away. Please remove tongue from cheek :D (and sorry, I cannot help you with your question, I am not better than the SAA website )

South African Airways Express was scheduled to begin service between Maun and Johannesburg on July 1, 2009. From what I understand, the Botswana government denied the necessary approvals for South African Airways Express to operate the flight. Although negotiations are still taking place, it does not appear that the service will begin on July 1.

the sooner the better. I woudl have loved to so SAA to MUB, but ented up with BA and BP instead. Bp was 90 minutes late on the return flight and added a stop to GBE on the way.

SAA would destroy the BP service
