WestJet "Passenger Perks" - WestJet issues revenue warning

The continued weakness in demand for air travel and corresponding lower fares had WestJet Airlines Ltd. further reducing its revenue expectations for the second quarter Wednesday.

A profit warning, but they'll still show a profit!! I'd hate to see what those $59 fares would do to their bottom line if WestJets costs were the same as other airlines!

The Calgary carrier reported that its May traffic fell by 5.8% year-over-year while the carrier continued to add 1.2% more capacity to its network. As a result, its load factor -- or average amount of seats filled on its planes -- fell by 5.4% to 74.1% year over year during the month.
