Hi there. I haven't been on in quite a while and thought I'd come back to the forums and check them out. I'm flying F (LAX to SEA) and was originally in row 4. After checking SeatGuru, I noticed that version 1 has the seat as having drawbacks but version 2 as a good seat. I've switched to row 2, since that was listed as good in both versions. Is there a way to check which version I'm flying in the future? Thanks in advance for any info.

Chances are you will have the -900 that does not have the lav behind row 4. AS has only a couple of those aircraft with the mid cabin lav, most do not. It's near impossible to know ahead of time which you'll get.
Row 2 is a great option on the -900s, and you'll be in good shape regardless of which AC you get.

If you are flying today, I assume you are flying on AS291. As of now, the scheduled A/C has a mid-lav so row 2 is a good seat. There is no way to tell in the furture which configuration you will get. A/C change on a daily basis.

Of the 12 -900's in the fleet, 6 of them have mid-lavs.

Thanks for the quick response. I guess I'll just aim for row 2 on the 900s. I usually fly the 800s down to LAX & BUR.

We actually have 6 -900s with a mid cabin lav and 6 without. -900s that have the mid cabin lav have a "1" or "2" after the first "3" in the aircraft number, as in 312, 315, 323...the ones without the mid cabin lavs have a "0" as their middle number, as in 301, 302, etc.

Sounds right. I flew aircraft #318 from MSP-SEA on 4/24/09 and it had a mid cabin lav. I flew in 3F which wasn't bad. I didn't notice the lav at all. I prefer a mid cabin lav rather than having passengers in coach always passing by to go to the FC lav.
I have a 900 scheduled on my SEA-OAK run on flt #354 6/9/09. I haven't seen that many 900's going to/from OAK. Maybe it will get switched out to a 400. I'll be sure to change my seat to row 1-3 if I get a FC UG. ;)

Nope, the OAK m/x base closed in Sept 2004. The heavy maintenance is mostly done at PAE and OKC these days.

A/C N302AS, N303AS, N305AS, N306AS, N307AS & N309AS do not have mid lavs.
A/C N315AS, N317AS, N318AS, N319AS, N320AS & N323AS have mid-lavs.
