Religious Travelers - Has anyone been in Cairo for Shabbat

I was there a few years ago at a private kosher home so I don't have any "food experience"

There were no Shuls open then and I doubt if the situation got better.

There of course is no Eruv so carrying even basic identity papers is a problem.

In the center of town is the Adly Street Shul which was built by Eastern European businessmen. It is closed and guarded by a soldier but with ID you might be able to get into to see it. There is also the Eben Ezra Shul and library which is open during the week. Don't remember the details but you can probably look it up.

It basically comes down to nothing to do but daven in your hotel, sleep, eat what you can and walk around a little
