Would like to get suggestions on how to best spend a 10 night stay in Tahiti.

Ms. Travelexpert and I will be traveling next May with our 7 year old daughter.

Want ideas on how we should allocate time in Papeete, Bora Bora and Moorea (those are the only options since we shall be using hotel points).

Consider activities available in contect of being cost-effective--we are not looking to run up a bill of $1000s!

Also will appreciate feedback on best ways of traveling between islands, including trade-offs between slower yet cheaper options versus faster but more expensive modes of transport.

Don't bother spending much time on Tahiti/Papeete. You should split your time between Moorea and Bora Bora as best you can based on flight schedules etc...

Between PPT-Moorea, you can either fly or take the ferry. Between PPT-Bora Bora it's flight only. You can also fly direct from Moorea-Bora Bora.

You said you were bringing your daugther, but I caution there isn't a whole lot to do with children. If she likes to swim then you're probably set as swimming/snorkeling/water sports are pretty much the main attractions. In Bora Bora, I don't think I saw any children around, so it's not really a destination that people take their whole families to very often (though I am not saying she wouldn't enjoy it). Moorea might be a bit more lively.
