Got this in the mail a few weeks ago;

Its a american express elite travel and leisure 2 free tickets offer. I need to pay 2.99 and then i can cancel the membership if i dont want it nomore.

Was wondering if this actually DOES work?
When i checked tickets via americanexpress.com i found tickets for under the price that they listed on the paper i got with the (free offer)

Any1?

I did the T&L promo that gives you a free companion ticket - and canceled before I got any subscription charges. Unfortunately, every time I've looked into using it I have found that the single ticket price to qualify for the free companion ticket is higher than what I can find for two tickets on ITA or even just doing a quick search online. Basically, as far as I'm concerned, it's pretty much a scam... 50% is not much of a discount when something is double the price it should be.

I second that - I think it's a waste as well. Although I did enjoy the year of Travel & Leisure...

I signed up for T&L and never received the voucher.

Welcome to FlyerTalk!!!

Just one of a few recent threads on this same topic can be found here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/american-express-membership-rewards/853446-american-express-travel-leisure-2-free-airline-companion-tickets.html. The short of it is that as long as you have no expectation of any actual value from the certificate the deal isn't so horrible. ;)
