I searched this forum and have looked online...can't seem to find the official government site for Canada that discusses flying in to Canada with a dog.

We will be on a direct flight into Toronto with our dog as a carry on bag. Can anyone tell me what paperwork requirements we will have to bring her into the country for a three day visit? Will we go through special processes after deplaning? What about re-entry to the U.S. and boarding our plane back home?

While I don't have experience myself, I found this page during a google search and there is a phone number at the bottom you might call. petswelcome.com is a reputable website, IMHO.

Here's also the U.S. Embassy website and there's more info on traveling with a pet toward the end of the page:

Definitely bring your vaccination history and I would invest in a health certificate just to be safe. You might also call your airline which should have information.

Our dog has crossed the border with us several times in a car and we've found it hassle-free (while we have paperwork with us, it has never been requested). He hasn't flown into Canada with us, though, so can't help you there.

The requirements are available at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency
