Hi all,

I notice a huge fare difference when trying to purchase a ticket from Egyptair egypt website and Egyptair USA website. As a non-egyptian, US Citizen, do you think I would have problem using a ticket purchased on the egyptair website? I can't tell by the fare restrictions but I feel like purchasing from the egyptair, egypt website would save me a considerable amount of money. Any one have any opinions on this?

I've booked on Egyptair's website by clicking on Egypt and then English. My non-Egyptian credit card was accepted without problems. Ticket numbers were issued. Flights were taken. Overall, not a problem. There is no reason why you shouldn't use the Egyptian section of the Egyptiar website.

I have fully read the entire fare rules and nothing states that one must hold an Egyptian passport, resident card or resident visa. The rules are kind of long, but here they are directly printed from the confirmation of the ticket:

same difference between egyptair France and Egypt site
i bought CAI-SSH A/R from the egypt site, and all went through smoothly

they try to ripp off foreigners but we 're smarter :-)

I was unable to purchase my EgyptAir tickets from any version of the MS website. .eg with English as the language or .com with USA set as the country.

But...I noticed the quotes between the USA site and the Egyptian site were actually not that far off. I priced three segments at $221 (total) on the US site vs. LE1140 on the EG site. That's a difference of about 5%.

Since neither site could ticket me with any of my American credit cards, I used Orbitz which was $11 per person more expensive.

Unless there's some freakishly low Egyptian-native site I'm not aware of, I don't think I got ripped off too bad.
