I will be hitting AC this summer for two nights with a friend.
I know Vegas inside and out, but have no experience with AC.
Anyone have any hotel/dining/club recommendations?

whats your budget? what type of places are you looking to hit? when are you going? what nights will you be there?
Food wise, i love Budakan (http://www.buddakanac.com/). There are also good cheaper options like pf changs, cuba libre and carmines.
Also if you get a chance, check out White House (http://www.hollyeats.com/WhiteHouseSubs.htm). one of the best subs ever.
Clubs, go to The Pool at Harrahs (http://www.harrahsresort.com/casinos/harrahs-atlantic-city/casino-entertainment/the-pool-nightlife-detail.shtml). thats definitely the new hot spot. there are also a bunch of other clubs like mixx and providence and some beach bars. But if you have to pick one place, i would check out the pool.
Hotel wise, go with the borgata. if you want a cheap alternative, stay at
Comfort Inn North, on rt 30 in Absecon NJ. its like $100 a night. you will need to take a cab into AC and back but you will save like $200 a night and can put to better use. ;-)
have fun!

Your budget and scene are important factors...
Hotel: Borgata is tops for hotel, but most expensive, and not located on the main strip. It is located in the marina district, along with Harrah's and Trump Marina, and is about a 5 minute taxi ride to the heart of town.
The Chelsea Hotel is also a great choice with pools, spa, a Stephen Starr restaurant, etc. and is next to Tropicana.
If nightlife is what you are going for, than Trop (The Quarter-Providence), Harrahs (The Pool), Borgata (Mixx & murmur) and Caesars (The Pier), and Trump Taj Mahal (Casbah) are your best bets (a new nightclub is slated to open at Caesars this summer, also). I like Providence and murmur.
If you are looking for a budget hotel outside of town, I wouldn't recommend anything on the Black Horse Pike in West Atlantic City, but you should fare ok at the Comfort Inn on the White Horse Pike.
Food: Definitely check out the White House for subs :)
Angelo's Fairmount Tavern is local favorite for casual Italian.
Irish Pub on St. James Place is great cash only bargain for food and beer.
Upscale choice - Mia in Caesars, Italian/Mediterranean; amazing wine list
Enjoy!

Looking for an inexpensive hotel walkable to the boardwalk (saving cash for other endeavors). Any great deals to be had with the economy and all?
Probably going mid-week. Is the place dead that time or is there some activity?
