1. Alitalia isn't answering their 1-800-223-5730. This is the right number, right? Well, there is an auto-answer, but once you select a menu item, you just sit there. There is no ringing, no auto-message to let you know you're on hold, nothing... Where is everyone?!?!
2. I am unable to pull my flight's seat (BUSINESS CLASS) map. It is a typical JFK-FCO flight in 2 weeks (from today). For some reason, it is the ONLY flight in the schedule for that day where I get the "It is currently impossible to visualise the seat map for the selected flight. You can still proceed to purchase your tickets."
What is going on? I already had to fight to get my wife and I to sit together after they arbitrarily moved our seats and didn't give us new ones. I want to make sure we're still together...
Help?? Isn't there a reservation agent from Alitalia that frequents this board??
Thanks!!

The hold music is back on 800-223-5730, so you should be OK.
I have found that once you get someone on the line, they're pretty helpful.
Also, ask them about your DL SM # on the phone.
Good luck.
I think you will find that AZ business is actually pretty good...

Update: I am "on hold" right now and no music. And still can't pull up my seat map. What is going on over there???!!!
After I call, I push the number "3" for "existing reservations" and then just silence. The call is still connected, but I hear nothing...
Another Update: So, the "3" doesn't work, but I just pushed "2" this time (for Business reservations, conidering it is a business class reservation) and waited (listening to the music) for about 2 minutes). Got my seats reconfirmed by the nice reservation agent. Also, she said that I can get my DL # added at the airport and that I should definitely keep my boarding passes just in case they don't post and I can submit them to Delta afterwards.

Thanks, but I am on flight AZ609 from JFK to FCO, not 610. Still 2-2-2, right? We are confirmed in seats 3A and 3C, so we are sitting next to each other and in a window-aisle section, right?
Thanks.

AZ609 is a DL codeshare (DL 8189), so you can call the DL SM number and give them your e-ticket #. Since you'll be flying on a DL flight anyway, these should credit automatically without having to send in the boarding passes.

yes az 609 is operated by the same az610 aircraft and configuration is the same as it's boeing 777-200. 3 ac is window and isle side so you're sitting next to each others and even if it's code share no need to ctc dl number.

I took AZ 609 on May 7 and it was a 767.

it's high season it's a 777-200 but anyway even if it was a 767 config is still 2-2-2 in j/class

All things are telling me that it is a 767, not a 777. I am REALLY hoping it is a 767 since the seats are better. Also, I was told the seating is 2-1-2, not 2-2-2 on this flight. This is the 4:55pm departure on a Saturday. When is "high season"?

I don't need the miles for the JFK-FCO flight, that one, the Delta codeshare, was "purchased" using miles. I want to earn miles on the FCO-CTA flight that was purchased with actual money.

Gotcha. I'm sure you realize that's a pretty short hop, about 220 miles, although I'm sure DL will credit you the 500-mile minimum...

Hey, any added mileage is good for me, right?! Thanks!
Plus, there is the chance that we could get upgraded as being SkyTeam Elites (Delta Silver Medallions). Right? Probably in only an oversold situation, but doesn't hurt to try! And also, we could get better seats, like bulkheads, right?

There is no real premium cabin on the intra-Italian flights...but you'll be fine in any seat, the flight will be in the air not be longer than 30 minutes.

you mean 1 hour 30- 1hr45 minutes... Venice-Palermo is the longest domestic Italian flight.
But if you fly out of LIN in the winter it could be until the fuel runs out with the fog issues they have. :-)
