First time for me... I'm connecting from AY codeshare PRG-WAW to HEL in J next week and wondered how's the transit at WAW, do I need to clear some transit security or can I just head straight to the lounge.

Thanks for any insight.

There used to be a transfer security point back when the new terminal was not yet open and before Poland's acceptance into Schengen, but the one time I transferred there they just waved me through. The new terminal (which both CSA and AY use) looks like you could just walk into the lounge, but by no means am I certain.

Hope you don't have too many hours there, the lounge is frankly quite horrible. A tiny room in the middle of the terminal (i.e. no windows) with decent drink selection, some sweets and snacks and computers. It is a generic lounge shared by tons of airlines and has a tendency of getting very overcrowded at peak hours.

Just walk from gate to gate, no security. The lounge is nothing to write home about. I think there are two of them.

Both lounges are quite terrible (no windows, only Schengen lounge /past passport control/ has windows). The best lounge is this located next to gate 5. The other lounge is ALWAYS cowded and you will have to 'fight' for your seat.

Thanks, here's the update:

1. OK cannot issue AY BPs in PRG, they can be picked up at the gate in WAW.
2. Luggage through-checkin ok
3. The WAW lounge was a total joke, as adviced here, when I checked it was standing room only..
