Waco, TX is a relatively short drive from DAL or DFW or, even, AUS. If I were you, I would take a look at Waco first. Then, look at Southwest from DTW to DAL to see what those fares are running. Look into renting a car at DAL or check the airport website for ground transportation options.

kayak, farecast, farecompare, ita, orbitz, expedia, and travelocity are all good search engines (I borrowed the list from another post).
