Yet again why does NZ have to make Mac users life hell. First it was the new e-tickets didn't work on a mac (PDF failed to show up).
Now they are prevent us from using the new POLi payment feature that allows you to pay straight out of you bank account using online banking.
But oh-no you have to be using Windows Vista or XP to be allowed to do this.
They mac apps for the iphone why cant they support Mac OSX 10.5 two?

There are lots of things on Air NZ sites that only work if you have certain software. Very annoying. I'd fill in the feedback form or contact premium desk. Probably won't achieve anything in the short term but at least they start getting the picture of how many are being affected.

I wonder has any tried this new feature in the koru lounge yet?
Yes, they even state that Mac is not compatible with their systems on their FAQ pages...
Question or Feedback
Can I pay by internet banking (POLi) if I'm using Mac OS X?
Answer
Sorry, POLi is not compatible with OS X. POLi is only compatible with the newer Windows operating systems because it uses the security features of the Microsoft .NET Framework.

Yip lol last time i check OSX is alot more safer than Windows
The real question is why an FTer would want to pay direct from a bank account and lose out on CC points earning (and the float!).

I don't really understand the reluctance some people have against using credit cards for small purchases. Its not as if it costs you any more or takes longer than using debit/eftpos, and nobody wants piles of small change jangling in their pockets (especially small change in 3-4 different currencies like the average FTer is likely to end up with!). All those £3 supermarket purchases add up to significant numbers of points/miles eventually :)

I agree, I pay with everything I can with a credit card - under $20 I typically use a VISA, and over $20 AMEX (it's a nuisance this has to be signed for).
All linked to getting me A$ of course. Every little bit counts.

I prefer signing over entering a PIN. But, that got me into trouble recently when I got a new CC and forgot to assign a PIN before going overseas... hard to get cash out of ATMs without a PIN!
Then again, I also hate texting, emailing from cellphones, or just about anything that requires me to push buttons on small electronic devices :p And no, I'm not over 50 :D

I am somewhat worried that NZ might try and impose a credit card fee now they've got this new payment facility.

Everything possible on Global Plus as well for me. Even my $4 coffee's if the cafe takes credit. Just as easy as eftpos (with PIN) and it all adds up over time.
