NZ reduces PPT-AKL & AKL-PPT flights to once a week after 8/16. :(

NZ 40 PPT-AKL - The twice a week Fri & Sun flights will reduce to 1. Weekly Sunday flight after 8/16 will no longer available. It will be only available once a week on Friday with departure time at 0745pm.


NZ 41 AKL-PPT - The twice a week Fri & Sat flights will reduce to 1. Weekly Saturday flight after 8/15 will no longer available. It will be only available once a week on Friday with departure time at 0400am.

Where did you hear this? I checked the NZ website, no mention of it and there are still Sunday flights from Nov onwards. I also rang NZ reservations and both the CSR and her supervisor said there were no plans to ditch the Sunday flight.

No, I'm not kidding, but they still have codeshare flights NZ 4082 (on Sun AKL-PPT) & NZ4081 (on Sat PPT-AKL) by Air Tahiti Nui available. The NZ metals N40 on Sun (AKL-PPT) and N41 (PPT-AKL) on Sat will be cancelled after 8/16.

I have a confirmed award ticket issued by UA for NZ flight 8/30 Sun AKL-PPT and 9/12 Sat PPT-AKL. UA called and told me that both the PPT-AKL on Sun 8/30 and AKL-PPT on Sat 9/12 were cancelled because of schedule change. Since it is an award ticket, I won't be able to get the NZ codeshare flights on both days. UA put me on Fri 8/28 and Fri 9/11 on NZ metals.

Probably NZ metal NZ40/41 will resume twice a week in November, but I did not check that far. What flight numbers do you have in November?

I knew they were changing flights from Saturdays to Fridays for summer schedule. But I didn't expect they cancel flights to once per week. Just looked at schedule in airnz website and it seemed currently only August flights were cancelled. September ones are still there.

I just priced out a AKL-PPT-AKL trip next Mar on airnz.com and it showed flights on both Fri and Sun!

Just confirmed awards on NZ40, AKL-PPT, on Fri 28-AUG, and NZ41, PPT-AKL, on Sat 05-SEP. Hope those flights exist - it took a fair amount of trying to find C class awards from SFO to PPT!
