Hi,
I have the codes to get a free membership to the hertz #1 gold club (they waive the $60 fee for the first year, and I'm not sure on automatic renewal policies...)
I have an AMEX Platinum card, and got the codes from them.
Go here:
www.hertz.com/goldcorp
Company name - American Express
CDP Code - 211762
Promotion Code - 4369
Then once you get to the Hertz screen, login with your already existing #1 Club Membership. Once you are logged in, you will see a button in the center that says "UPGRADE TO GOLD." Click it and follow the directions.
AFAIK, you do not need to own an AMEX platinum for this to work. You just need to be in the know :-)
Have fun! I would never pay for #1 Gold upgrade at a rental car company, when all the other companies give you these types of things for free.
