To my surprise, many of the FinnComm flights from July on between HEL and KUO seem to be operated using the ERJ-145 instead of the turboprops. Maybe also somewhere else...

Yeah, they do this once a while. Usually the ERJs are reserved for the longer sectors to KEM (and seasonally KAO), but every now and then they are also deployed on other routes. I've flown an ERJ to/from TLL, KEM, KUO, JOE and even TMP in the last two years or so.

I think it might have something to do with the maintenance schedule of the ATRs and the fact that it only needs a single F/A, meaning it is handy during the vacation period when the ATR-42s are too busy with other routes (they also need only a single F/A, as opposed to the -72s that need two).
