Hello All - any idea if I would need to get a visa to visit Australia? Travelling with a Canadian passport.

Thanks

In a word, yes. Here's a handy site for future reference:

You can get one online for a fee but your travel agent may get you one for free.

That is not entirely correct.

For a Canadian citizen with a Canadian passport, no visa is needed. However, an ETA is needed... that costs about A$20 to obtain online but it may be possible to obtain one without the A$20 admin charge.

Are you travelling in premium class service? As least as far as UA functions, the ETA is free for high status pax and premium class pax.
Worth a look maybe.

If you buy the ticket from a travel agent, most travel agents will do it for free. By the way the ETA is good for one year with unlimited entry from date of issue.

There is no direct cost to the travel agent. All their cost is the time needed to type your info.

You should see the first sticky of this forum:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/australia-new-zealand-south-pacific/682358-free-australian-eta-visa-application.html

Your question is answered in that sticky thread in more detail, including an option of selected FTers actually applying for this electronic visa, on your behalf!
