Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - RTW price increase ex -korea

i was liasing with the staff at CX Seoul office about buying another AONE4 ticket and was informed that there had been a price increase as of 11th May 2009

thinking this would be inline with the currency devaluation, i was amazed at the new levels of pricing..

Korea was one of the cheapest to start the process..

OLD PRICING before Tax:

AONE4 krw10,098,900 ( First class )
DONE4 krw 6,776,800 ( Business class )

NEW pricing before Tax :

AONE4 krw15,148,400 ( First class )
DONE4 krw10,165,200 ( Business class )

currency is today sitting at 1 usd = krw 1250 approx.

nice in this eviroment, if you can get it..

i think i will fly to indonesia for this one..

I visited the Kises office in Seoul today, to thank my very nice, patient and efficient agent for her work on ticketing my AONE4 ex-ICN that starts this week.
She told me I was "lucky" to have purchased back in March.
Before the price increase, with the 10% discount, and getting about 1340 KRW to the US $ I paid an (AFTER TAX) amazing ~$7400US!!!!!! (9,900,000 KRW)

i knew of the 10% discount but thought the AONE4 price would be here to stay in this day and age.. the krw got to 1550 at one stage, and they still did not move.. so i thought i would wait.

there is another couple of countries that are underneath $10,000usd after tax.. so will have to make do with that..

means also have to re organise, as first has been pulled off some routes.. some important routes..

May I ask what is AONE4 and DONE4?

AONE4 is round the world ticket on first class via 4 continents
DONE4 same but in business class.
