Borgata officials say she beat the previous record by one hour and 12 minutes. They say Stanley Fujitake of Honolulu, set that record nearly 20 years ago in Las Vegas.

"This was only my second time playing craps, so this was very exciting for me to be a part of history," says Patricia Demauro, who lives in Denville in northern New Jersey.

Demauro bought into a game for $100 and quickly amassed a cheering crowd. When she finally lost around 12:31 a.m., after 154 rolls of the dice, she was greeted by Borgata with a champagne toast.

The casino wouldn't say how much Demauro won.

If only I was there.....

The closest I have ever come to something like this was 8-9 years ago at Bally's. I was playing (not rolling). It went on for a long time. So long, in fact, that when he finally 7'd out, there were no green $25 chips in the bank to pay the players. The players already had them all.

I was at Harrah's that weekend. Yesterday I was at the Borgata and players/dealers were still talking about it.

Apparently she didn't make off as well as the other players at the table because she didn't up her bets appropriately or do any side bets.

Damn - my best roll was about 20 minutes & I thought it was one of the greatest rolls I've ever done. I walked away with 900 bucks on a 5.00 table!

I think a lot depends on the table maximum bet.

A lot of the lower denomination ($10/$15) tables in Atlantic City have a maximum bet of only $2,000/$3,000 and 5X odds is pretty much standard city wide.

Now, if it was Caesars Atlantic City.... that would be a different story.

Caesars increased the "published-public" maximum bet at ALL dice tables to $50K last summer (with a maximum of $50K in free odds). (also $50K at blackjack, but still ONLY $15K at baccarat, FWIW).

Does that include the Bonus Hold'Em tables?

A time based record is meaningless in my opinion. 154 rolls in 258 minutes = 1 minute and 40 seconds between rolls, that is pretty damn slow for a craps table.

Not that I'm aware of,

New limits apply to the following :

Maximum Bet:
Blackjack = $50,000
Roulette = $1,000 any way
Craps = $50,000 max line bet
with $50,000 max odds
Baccarat = $15,000
Mini-Baccarat = $15,000
Midi-Baccarat = $15,000
Pai Gow Poker = $15,000
Pai Gow Tiles = $15,000

That's actually not too bad considering the amount of action played on such a long roll.

I shoot craps at the Borgata, I can honestly say I have been there a few times where the dice was held for a long period for a shooter more than 1 hour. I think they really never think about how long it takes between throws. But all I can say is I have thrown several times 50 rolls plus before crap out.

As the ole saying goes make your money work for you and you can get them when the table is hot. Here's something the borgata won't mention. Feb 06 they shut the table down when the crap table had three shooters in a row, who threw more than 50 rolls before crapping out. The pit boss told me after I cashed out the table took the borgata for over 200k that famous night ....it was a $10 minimum table is what made that interesting.
