I am looking for an upgrade certificate, but first are they trasnferable? I should be premier soon, but don't have the status yet. Have a couple of stays coming up this summer.

Thanks
N

No, they aren't as the member books one category room and, subject to availability, gets a suite upgrade. As per FPC T&C:

https://www.fairmont.com/EN_FA/FPCPublic/FPCTermsAndConditions

Suite upgrade certificates are subject to availability at time of reservation at participating hotels. Members are upgraded from the room category purchased to the hotel’s designated suite category. Applicable from Fairmont room category and above. One certificate redeemable per stay. Cannot exceed a stay of five nights. Not applicable for Fairmont Gold rooms or suites. Cannot be used as credit toward Fairmont Gold rooms or suites. Not applicable for specialty suites or multi-unit suites. For blackout date information visit www.fairmont.com/fpc/limitedaccess

In fact, don't they even have the member's name and FPC number printed on them?

For Platinum members, they are transferrable to family members, which is nice!

I was able to transfer a suite upgrade to a close friend at the Phonecian last year with some pleading to the CSR at Platinum...
