I think this is buzzworthy as a referral to the Hilton thread if nothing else.
Hilton HHonors has quite suddenly decided that they will no longer create new "mutual funds" (joint accounts for spouses). This had always been a differentiating characteristic of Hilton among loyalty plans.
The good news is that it seems current mutual fund accountholders will not have their accounts "de-mutualized".

AFAIK, Marriott will still allow you to pool points to redeem an award. Marriott never went as far as HHonors did with actually mutualizing the accounts, but for most people the key benefit - pooling points for a big reward - is there.
(Yes, there are a few couples out there for whom 2 Silvers would equal 1 Platinum if they truly mutualized, but I'm guessing those folks are pretty few and far between, statistically speaking.)

Hyatt still allows combining as well for elite members.

the other forum (frequentflier.com) has a post in there by Ella saying that HHilton is now going to allow the combinations continue til April 1.
I'd call HH now if I were you to not only confirm or deny this, but if it is true, to act NOW!
I guess if you have a joint account already, as my wife and I do, it will be ok still.
What a bummer anyway!

Starwood allows freely points to be transferred among members who share the same address.

They ARE making exceptions and allowing you to add your spouse if you call. At first they say no, it's been discontinued, but if you insist, they will tell you to send your request in writing before April 1st.
