Korean Air Skypass - AVOD on SFO-ICN?

Can any of the FTer's share their knowledge of availability of AVOD in coach class on SFO-ICN flights?

I am planning to travel with family and have almost bought my tickets on KE but we may need to avoid KE if there are not AVODs in coach :-)

I have recieved conflicting info - I called up KE and they said AVOD is available in coach), however, an FTer has flown SFO-ICN-BOM without AVOD, so I am requesting KE veterans here to share their knowledge/experience...

Is the larger 777 substituted for the AVOD-equipped 777 on certain days of the week or when there is higher traffic or the non-AVOD aircraft is the norm on SFO-ICN route?

The thing is, KE secretly swapped planes for LAS and SFO this May, thus LAS was with AVOD but not for SFO. It will be back to AVOD-772 from June 2nd. LAS will be upgraded to 747 with AVOD from June 1st.

I hope KE works faster this time around with refitting the rest of the long haul fleet so we don't have to keep wondering if certain flights have avod. I'm glad they're finally gonna put avod on their A330s and the non-ER 777-300's. Kinda long overdue

I'm thinking about flying them from LAX to ICN and then on to CRK (Clark Field Manilla). AVOD is a big deal and I hope the retrofit is complete.

Any status on the AVOD overhaul?

When are you flying? In this month, some of SFO/SEA as well as DFW/HNL/LAX(via NRT) and many Europe/Oceania routes are runned by older version, while DFW and LAX via NRT will be the only dark North-American routes for Sep and Oct (i.e. SFO/SEA/HNL will be all new config.)

From late October, ICN-LAS-LAX-ICN, DFW, and LAX (via NRT) are to be old config and will be slowly upgraded by new version by early next year. Also SYD will see new version from late Oct.

I have the same question as the OP (AVOD/Seat question in 'C' class), but for the ICN-SEA route (specifically, KE19).

I'm a bit leery to book this flight (mid-Jan, 2010) because I'm concerned the 772 used on this route might be an old configuration plane.

As stated in the other thread, ICN-SEA-ICN will be run by newest 772 product from later this year. You'll enjoy KE's newest product that is currently available only on KE's brand new 77W.
