Asiana Club - Renewal of Membership using old policy

I have a question on the renewal policy that I hope someone can shed some light on.
My understanding of the renewal policy for members that joined during the old rules is that our membership level will be assessed based on 2 years effective from 01 October.
However, I recently received my renewed card for another 3 years as it was based on the old rules. In the leaflet given in my renewal pack, it stated that in order to maintain my status, the membership level will be determined based on my past 2 years based on the expiry date of my new card or 2 years after the renewal date of my Diamond membership. If this is the case, the reference date will be 01 May instead of 01 October.
So, is my reference date from 01 October or 01 May (my reference date using the old rules)?

I think it's May 01. Either way, we'll see. I just made Gold, so I guess I'll be getting my gold card and Star Silver card soon.

Here is the quote from the rules:
│Reference day│
Category Reference day
Members who signed on prior to Oct. 1, 2008 Oct. 1, 2008
Members who sign on after Oct. 1, 2008 Membership start date
• If you are upgraded to Gold or above status before Oct. 1, 2008, or if you are upgraded to Gold or above status during a qualification term under the old policy, your expiry date of your Elite Member qualification term may be the reference Date.
So since you had status before 1st October 2008 your reference date should be the expiry date of your status.
But OZ makes mistakes here. My card doesn't have the validity it is supposed to have under the rules.

My expiry date of my renewed card is 30 April 2012 so it's a bit confusing as the online website under the Renewal tab is using October 1 2008 as the reference date.
However, the website gives the following example:
ex2) If a Silver member is upgraded to Gold member status under the old policy on Oct. 1, 2009, the member can maintain a Gold status for 3 years until Sep. 30, 2012. New membership level will be granted to the member based on evaluation from Oct.1, 2009 to Sep. 30, 2011 or from Oct. 1, 2010 to Sep. 30, 2012 under the new policy
However, another section of the website indicates that :
Membership levels will be assigned based on flight records of every 24 months from Reference Day, beginning Oct. 1, 2008. If you meet the qualifications for each level within 24 months, you will be promoted to the next level and can maintain Elite Status for the ‘Advance Promotion Bonus Term + 24 months'. When the qualification term expires, the new membership level will be granted based on flight record over the last 24 months up until the expiry date. Flight records during the ‘Advance Promotion Bonus term' will not be considered in the membership evaluation
Based on the information you gave me and the example 2 above, can I safely assume then that all miles I accumulate now can be used for renewal given my membership level was granted on 1 May 2009?

If you want to speed things up, I normally phone the Asiana office and get them to send the card. They will then send you the pack within a few days. If even that takes too long and you live in a city with a local Asiana office, you can always pop down. Most offices are now able to immediately print a membership card for you.

No rush, the next time I'm flying is in August, so I have plenty of time. I was just curious as to when I should expect it.
