Do we get any fees for paying by credit cards? Any info?

Through Official Payment Corp: Yes. (If your locality is set up with them for property tax to begin with.)

Directly through your locality: varies, but if they take credit cards at all, there usually is a fee.

mine is in escrow and as a condition of the loan, paid in with the mortgage each month.

Thus, I have to write a check each month or send in money orders, etc. So I use the OTHER method of churning money into miles as stated throughout my currently favored Charter One thread...

If the property is located in Los Angeles County call (888)473-0835. It's automated, just keep listening for the prompts and eventually you'll get to the prompt for determining the credit card service fee. Punch in the dollar & cents amount (i.e. for $1853.80 you would punch in 185380) and you'll get the the amount to the penny.

They accept American Express, MasterCard, & VISA.
