I have a number of confidential work related documents that I have to read and then generate confidential reports on. In the past I have done them on MacOS which has a secure delete capability built into the OS. However, they have started using a secured word template for the reports and we have also started using a document comparison program, the latter of which (possibly the former as well) only works completely in XP/Vista. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for current software for doing secure deletes on XP machines (ability to also wipe excess disk space would be a plus). I found a lot when I googled, sdelete looks reasonable but it is command line. I know these things come out pretty frequently and I was looking for some first hand suggestions on what is currently the best solution, and if you had any for email encryption that would be of interest too. Thanks for any suggestions.

Eraser, and it's free. Been using it for years. Pick your level of file erasing. Also wipes disk free space. ^
