So two days ago I booked a one-way ticket for myself and 2 others PHX-JFK on June 17...$109+tax on USAirways. BLECH! B6 was $154.
Then 24 hours later, B6 had matched the US fare, down to $109 to JFK. The fare-matching people at JetBlue couldn't have decided to do this one day earlier and saved me from flying on US?? Thanks for nothing! :p
At least I get to fly home on B6, so only half of my journey is destined to suck. :D
There, I feel a little better now.

You can call JetBlue and receive a credit for the difference in fares for use on future flights.

The OP bought his out bound flight on US b/c it was cheaper. Day after booking, B6 matched the US fare. I highly doubt B6 would give a credit on that. Although, he was smart in buying the return ticket with the airline with free TV. :)
I'd just pay the $45 extra not to fly US in Y. Uggggghhhh.

Oh, my mistake. I thought he had booked it on B6 only to have B6 lower the price.

If it had been just one ticket I would have, but an extra $150 (3 tickets) was just too much. :(

Well don't worry, you'll end up spending the extra money to check in your bags with US so it is a double loss--poor service and you end up paying more than jetBlue.

No checked bags! Well maybe one.

I can think of about that same number of trips where I checked bag including international travel over the past 10 years. And I've only ever had to pay once. It was wine and there was no way I was going to my in-laws' for Thanksgiving without it, and the $15 was cheaper than shipping it. Otherwise I don't pay so it doesn't really bother me.
Of course, I'm checking again this weekend (dive gear) but it is again free, so I don't mind too much.
