Las Vegas - Difference between resort and tower suites at Encore? + upgrade question

I'm wondering what the difference between a king resort suite and a basic king tower suite is at the Encore. I'm staying there from July 27th to July 31st for $109/night and was just wondering if an upgrade was available to a tower suite if I should go for it. The floor plan and description of the two are almost identical, is it just that tower suites get their own private check in? I'm checking in at 10pm so I doubt lines will be a big issue for me. Can you do in room check out?
Also, speaking of upgrades. Is there any "standard" upgrade system in place? Like if I ask about it is it always $50/night upgrade from a basic room to the next level if it's available? Or is it really hit and miss and that price moves around a lot? Also, would an upgrade from a king resort be to a panoramic king resort (isn't the room 100% the same just located on the higher floors? Can I ever get those rooms if I just request a high floor and one is available?) Or does that paid upgrade take you to a tower suite?
Also, does anyone have an idea of what range of room numbers has the best view of the south strip? I mean like as far down it as you can possibly see. In some pictures and youtube videos it looks like some of the south view rooms only see a little of Vegas Blvd and mainly just the Wynn. I wonder if I can ask when checking in to be towards a certain section if available and on a slightly lower floor then maybe two or three floors up since that's the "best view" but mainly looking at the side of the Wynn tower.
THANKS!
King resort and Tower suite room are the same room... Your Tower Suites key is also a line pass for Wynn Buffet and Cafe. I like how the access for Tower Suites is super convenient...to both the casino and the valet entrance. Nightly turndown...a few upgraded accessories in the room. Tower suite guests at Encore have access to Tower Suite private pool at Wynn.
Upgrade from King Resort is to Panoramic room... People have reported getting the Panoramic for $20 more/night or simply by asking. I don't stay on Resort side so if you could get the Tower suite for the $50/night that people have reported, that's what I would do. You're getting a great deal at $109... Some people don't care about the little extras so then just keep your money for something else...
For best view of Strip, you need room to the North...

Strip view rooms on the Tower Side are closest to Venetian so the view is blocked...for best view of Strip, you need a room as far North as possible.
Ya, I figure the deal is already amazing, now I just want to see if I can score a great view! I would rather have a good view then being upgraded to a "better" room with private check in or pool. So when checking in I should ask for the highest floor possible and a room as far north in the building as possible for the best view? Do you know how the room numbers run? Like if the room numbers on a floor start at the end with the best view and build down the hallway to the other end or just the opposite?
Do Encore guests have access to Wynn pools too, or just stuff a the Encore?
highest floor for sure...Encore views of the Strip aren't that great IMO. Tower Suites at Encore rooms are on North side of hotel starting at 1. Maybe others who have stayed on Resort side might be able to talk more about the view.
Encore guests have access to Wynn pools...
You'll have a great time and for $109/night, have already won !

To answer your room # question for best view----
#1 as close as possible to tower suite doors and elevator
#2 even number room
you will want an even number to be on the strip side as opposed to the riviera, circus circus, fountainbleu view side. I was in 5114 last time and had a great strip view, just a couple doors down from the Tower suites section. my sister was across the hall in 5115 and had that crap ghetto view. my room was a Q/Q, theirs was a K.
I think the closest room to the tower suites was 5110 and that room has been rumored to have the upgraded "tower suites" decore as it can be used as a connector for the adjacent tower suites room.
So my understanding would be if you can get room XX10 at Encore you should have the equivalent of a Tower King for the price of a Resort King...or I guess a panoramic view resort king.

Panoramic view rooms are rooms that start at 50th floor and higher. No difference in room, just higher up.
Don't worry about room numbers...just ask for a strip view on a high floor and they will accomodate you if they can. It's useless to pay $20/night to move from the 36th floor to the 50th floor (which is only a 5 floor move as they don't have any floors with 40's numbers on them).
The standard upgrade rate from resort to tower is $50/night. Check into a resort room and then call down to the tower desk and ask if they can upgrade you to a room in the tower and at what rates. That's the easiest way to handle it. Hope that helps.

Is it really worth upgrading to a tower room though? If the view is going to be better or there's better chance of being on the highest floor possible then maybe so, IF it's a strip view and not a golf course/old vegas view. But if it's just VIP check in and private pool... well I'll have already checked in and we might use the pool once just to see what it's like. $50/night for better view or better room is worth it to me, but is it anything more then just pool/checking benefits?

Depends on what you think $50 is worth...
I like the line pass, the turndown, the separate entrance, the private pool, the whole "hotel-in-a-hotel" concept... but if you don't value those things, then stay on Resort side. Paying extra for Parlour/Salon suite is a better value. However, depending on occupancy, there's no guarantee you'll get an upgrade so don't sweat it... Golf course view is nicer than seeing the mall or the side of Palazzo IMO...
