Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Will CX drop kaiseki on the few F flights to/from NRT?

Does anyone have a clue about CX continuing or dropping the kaiseki option on flights to/from HKG and NRT, since there are now only a few flights a week on inconsistent days?
It seems that they would drop it rather than go through all that is neccessary to keep it for only a few flights.:td:
I rang them and no one in HK could tell me anything, so I am assuming that it will go BYE BYE.

In my experience of NRT to HKG F service,
there was no Kaiseki meal service for a morning flight, even F class menu listed Japanese Kaiseki meal.
It was a few years ago.

First I am glad to hear that people enjoy the Kaiseki service provided in F class between HKG and Japan. Currently CX does not plan on reducing any current services (those after the May 1 catering and hard product updates) provided in F & J class on any route it operates.
The only cabin affected by continual changes will be the EY cabin so that CX may better align itself with the needs of those passengers.
That said, any changes made in the F & J cabin are first tested by Premium Service Ambassadors on special select flights. If those changes uphold the integrity of the product offered the changes are then broadcasted to all cabin crew with an effective date usually 2 weeks after the announcement. To this date, no changes have been broadcasted.
You know, we are actually very reluctant to book with them now, and we usually do F to and from the UK and US.
We had a multi-sector itenerary involving multiple flights within Asia a few months ago. They decided to change their intra-Asia F services and 4 of our flights got downgraded to C. So we cancelled everything and booked with JAL instead.
Now we need a HKG-NRT segment, and I thought about trying to do CX instead of a repeat with JAL. But their F service on this route is inconsistent. Some days yes, but most no. And different flight numbers and times.
Who knows if they will cancel the F from HKG-NRT if I book it? I figure there is a high likelihood, and don't want to get stuck in their lousy intra-Asia C for 4.5 hours. So I don't think I'll take the chance. It just isn't worth all the headache, even for a "possible" kaiseki meal (and who really knows if that will be loaded?).
It seems that CX, who once were reliably consistent, are no longer so. It is very sad.

This also happens quite often with the aircraft swaps and the availability of F Class on those aircraft. Japan does use a mix of all aircraft types both regional and long haul (some with F&J&EY and some with only J&EY).
One OT question that I don't want to start another thread for:
What does EY mean? Why not just Y, is there a difference? Also is there such a thing as EF and EJ, or just F and J?
The 'E' is confusing for me...

I think it's just some internal acronyms, EYCL vs. CCL vs. FCL. I'm not sure if there's necessarily any reason for the use of EY vs. Y that people know...the "E" is from "E"conomy I think.

The term EY is commonly used by crew members.

Setting aside the aircraft lottery, if you want edible kaiseki, stick with JAL (or NH). JAL's F kaiseki meal is miles ahead of anything CX serves. This wasn't always the case, at one point they were pretty comparable, but this has not been the case for 5 or 6 years.
This discussion is almost pointless because its not just an aircraft lottery as to which will have F (which implies a sporting chance of getting F some time on each day), but in reality, there is almost zero F on HKG-NRT - lots of flights, but no F on most days.

Uh.. who are these people?
Are they as diligent as some of our FTers here when testing a product?

YES, the kaiseki service is GREAT. I would disagree with other opinion and fin dit excellent and comparable to JL or SQ. I would not book in CX F on the route, except for the pleasure of getting that service.
