Other Car Rental Programs/Partners (ie. Alamo, Enterprise, Sixt) - Inputing "Additional Driver" problems - Alamo

The last hour has been a bit frustrating.

Made a res with a Costco code which allows 1 add driver.
After reserving, I clicked on the "Save Time" option to add my friend as an extra driver. Inputed his info.... clicked save and no probs..... an email is sent to me and lists him as a driver.

But........... I click on a few minutes later to "view" the res. Now, his name does not appear. Nor, does his personel info etc come up in any screen. When i try to view anything regarding my res..... I am sent an email stating I modified the reservation. I now have 6 emails in about an hour.

Called Alamo........ first guy states because its a Costco deal that I cannot add the extra driver online and have to go to the counter. Is this true?
I think its bullsh*t. He also said I need to show them the coupon???
AHHH, no coupon just my Costco card.

2nd guy I called said that I can enter the extra driver online (or over the phone for that matter). I asked about the original info I inputed but he had no clue where it went.

Anybody familiar with Costco and their Alamo discounts..... or inputing additional drivers for that matter.

Well, what is the sense of Alamo's "Save Time" option then. Is it not suppossed to allow you to input info so you can bypass the counter.
I am looking to bypass the counter, head straight for the lot, pick up my car and hand my paperwork to the guy before I exit. He can verify my codes, coupons and my buddies driver's license.

I am out to lunch on this or am I missing something.

I tried again and successfully added the info for my additional driver.

I now have a question regarding the Kiosk vs. online check-in.

It states that online check-in does not accept coupons, so if I am a Costco code user..... am I screwed. Or, should I just use the Kiosk.

Has anybody used the Costco codes and what is the process that you went through. I am under the impression that all I have to do is show my Costco card to the guy upon exiting.
I don't believe there is a "hard" or printable coupon at all. The Costcotravel site states that I only have to present my membership card to Alamo. So, along with my res, drivers lic I should (in theory) just confirm it with the exit guy.

OK.......... so my question still stands.
Can I use the kiosk and then show the attendant the rental agreement, coupons, drivers licences when I am leaving.. or am I forced to use the counter.

You should be able to put all info on the webpage...print out your confirm Online checkout form...bypass the counter and show your Lic/CC/addl drivers' Lic/coup at the gate and be on your way. Seen it done hundreds of times.

If it was causing probs at time of booking I would say it was a glitch in the software and to come back the next day and try again.

Yes you CAN add addl drivers at the Kiosk too...but then they have to be in the car when you leave the lot...as you need to have their lic to enter then info into the kiosk...and the gate agent has to see the person in the car when you leave with it.
