We'll be traveling LAX-HKG on economy, on 74A. we're tentative to select 30FG. Is it a good pick? I don't think we need a bassinet at all. Any other suggestions if this seats run out?

Check here. http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Cathay_Pacific_Airways/Cathay_Pacific_Airways_Boeing_747-400_B.php Looks like if your not using the bassinet, you may want to try other seats. Im on this flight tomm night, but in F. Ill try to run back and check, maybe take pics for you if I get a chance. sl00001 May 19, 09, 6:40 pm if you dont require the bassinet, better select different seats. First row seats the armrests are fixed (is that the case in the 74A, never flown new Y). So if possible better try to secure a seat-block :p cxcabincrew May 19, 09, 7:26 pm -deletion of account- chanp May 20, 09, 1:22 am cxcabincrew, good to have you here. Do you happen to be on my 1150pm flight tomm to HKG from LAX? Guy Betsy May 20, 09, 1:49 am A warm welcome to us858 & cxcabincrew to Flyertalk, and here at the Cathay Pacific Asiamiles forum. There are many areas where one may venture to to find out about your flights and usually many topics have been discussed before. So I encourage you to use the "search" button for any other questions that you might have before posting the question. The 'stickies' - which are the threads that are more or less permenantly at the top of the forum hold various topics such as menu selection and the CX FAQ which you might find interesting. In any case, enjoy your times here! I'm only concerns that there may be constantly a long line next to us to get to the restroom. We're traveling in Xmas time (and I'm 110% sure that flight will be FULL FULL), any chance that CX will arrange advance seating before 180 days? I'm holding a M ticket (which according the CX website, it's eligible for advance seating selection). chanp May 20, 09, 5:28 pm Thank you for having me here. It seems we will be flying on the same day, but in a different direction (I will be returning to LA). Please have a safe flight! I will wave hello over the Pacific! Oh, maybe on the way back? Im back next Tues the 26th leaving at 415pm from HKG. cxcabincrew May 20, 09, 8:07 pm -deletion of account- cxcabincrew May 20, 09, 8:12 pm -deletion of account- jrhmdtraum May 29, 09, 8:16 am One of the untold horrors is that there is a "lap" baby seriously injured every several weeks. If a plane hits an air pocket, it is impossible to hold on to a baby (due to physics) and they go flying. As a pediatric trauma surgeon in Chicago, I took care of several brain injured babies a year. Put your child in a car seat and don't hold them in flight. Cathay's bassinet has a net which sometimes works - it has been broken the last several flights I took. mkjr May 29, 09, 12:19 pm One of the untold horrors is that there is a "lap" baby seriously injured every several weeks.
