Don't think it's been discussed as yet, and one good thing about this deal is that open jaw within Japan ports is allowed.
You also get 1000 bonus AMs when you book thru CX's website.

And they jokingly offer this on First Class when they fly one flight on random days, randomly changed? What sort of incentive is that when more likely than not with the First Class ticket you've bought you end up travelling in (regional) business?

It is difficult to offer these incentives for business and economy only as long as there is still first class. Otherwise F miles will be lower than Y miles.;)
I don't remember the exact details, but if I remember right there's indeed promotions before like this but only applied to J/Y (I guess the rationale being that if you / your company could pay F, you wouldn't willingly take J instead just for the small additional miles?)

Will the double miles be counted towards DM (or any other level) status? The bonus miles probably not. The T &Cs say nothing on this.

as usual I think it's a no. it says quite clearly double "Asia Miles", it didn't mention anything special about "Club Miles" - as usual "Asia Miles" don't count towards status, only "Club Miles"...

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but just doing an "audit" of my husband's account (sigh, yes, there are always that many partner flights that don't credit properly, same with any FF programme, really), and haven't seen any bonus miles for this promotion.
The terms & conditions did originally say that bonus miles would post separately 4 - 6 weeks after qualifying flights. However, this is now a good 3 months after and no miles.
Anyone similar? Before I whip off an e-mail...

you would really need to chase up on these cases, sometimes the system just do not do their job properly

Mine was posted a couple of weeks after the promotion ended.
My promotion miles were posted on July 19.
