Hi,
For reasons I won't go in to, I am booked on a Korean Air flight from Beijing to Seoul, I have about 11 hours in Seoul (booked in the transit hotel) and then I fly Seoul to Tokyo to Seattle on Northwest. The Korean Air ticket was bought on their website, the Northwest ticket was purchased separately. Does any here have any experience with situations like this and know weather Korean will check my bags through to Seattle when I check in in Beijing? With split ticket situations on other airlines, I've heard of it going both ways, but with both KE and NW as part of SkyTeam, my initial thoughts are that chances are good they will check it through, but I thought maybe one of you might have some experience to share. Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi RachelF2 and a warm welcome to Flertalk!

I recently flew out of Shanghai on Korean connecting to Cathay Pacific in Seoul. Korean offered to check the bags all the way through.

My flights were also on two separate tickets.

However, as I had a very tight connection in Hong Kong I decided to play it safe and not entrust the bags all the way through from Shanghai (I collected them in Seoul and rechecked them in with Cathay).

I was flying KE/CX - you will by flying all Skyteam - so I wouldn't think there is any problem.
