Just posted on the BA forum that BA is running a 2-4-1 CW round trip to UK and Europe from HKG...
With the likes of BA and SQ doing promotions at their home base (ex-LON 2-4-1 in CW with BA recently, SQ allowing discounted mileage redemption for PPS members etc), it seems that CX is not doing a lot to stimulate premium cabin traffic...I understand that CX being the HKG based carrier they can charge higher fares than others...but still....am I missing something here?? Any ex-HKG promotions in J and F recently?

Not missing anything, CX still thinks of itself as a premium airline and that there are lots of people still willing to pay premium prices. In their minds, their "Business Class Specials" at 32k to Europe is already great value!

With BA offering 2 for 1 in J to LHR, can't see why anyone would choose CX in J which IMHO is the inferior product.

anyone seen an EMPTY long haul biz class lately...from what I see CX's European and US destinations Business class is still quite full so I presume they dont seem to feel the "need to offer a promotion' yet.....they feel what they have on offer is already suitable.......and with the biz class's being full (i presume from not ex-hkg fare's....) i guess they are right.....

i agree. cx could possibly see no need to promote in the next while as high season is coming up, and usually their long haul flights will be quite full in J and Y.

...and that they have cut their capacity quite a bit already ? i.e. they rather cut capacity and maintain premium, rather than selling lots of cheap seats...
